  1. Instructions to set up AppleSearch.acgi as an action.
  2.  
  3. Step1 -    Use WebSTAR Admin to create an action.
  4.                             A.    Select "Actions..." from the "Configure" menu.
  5.                             B.    Enter the path to the AppleSearch cgi in the "application:" text field.
  6.                                         For example: ":AppleSearch.acgi" (without the quotes)
  7.                             C.    Enter the name of the action (I recommend ASEARCH)
  8.                             D.    Click on the "Add" button.
  9.                             E.    Click on the "Update" button.

  11. Step2 -    Use WebSTAR Admin to add a suffix mapping entry.
  12.                             A.    Select "Suffix Mapping..." from the "Configure" menu.
  13.                             B.    Select the name of the action entered above from the 
  14.                                     popup menu labeled "Action:"
  15.                             C.    Type a suffix into the "File suffix:" text field.  
  16.                                     (I recommend ".srch" Make sure you include the period - no quotes)
  17.                             D.    You can leave the rest blank.
  18.                             E.    Click on the "Add" button.
  19.                             F.    Click on the "Update" button.

  21. Step3 -    Change the URLs that access the AppleSearch cgi.
  22.                             A.    Any place where your pages link to the cgi you need to change the URL from
  23.                                         "AppleSearch.acgi$form" to "form.srch"
  24.                             B.    If you use the $sources method change "AppleSearch.acgi$sources" to
  25.                                         "sources.srch"

  27. Note:    If you forget to change the URLs as described in Step3 the AppleSearch cgi will still work the old way.
